I made the following meeting notes:

Agile

Thanks to Cory I’ve been looking a lot in to help professional software companies develop their work. There are many great principles that I would like to implement but it’s going to take a shift in how we understand the development of our game.

Agile is a framework used by many established software companies based on years of experience.

The fundamental difference when it comes to agile software development compared to traditional software development is that when you work in an agile way you develop small segments of value and deliver it to the customer right away.

Rather than working on one massive project you do tiny little slices that are very focussed on putting something in the hands of users ASAP, even if that means redoing a lot of work.

The reason people use this method is because we often assume we understand what people want but in practice we don’t know. In order to grow our knowledge we must deliver something and get feedback and then implement that feedback into the next part of the thing we create.

It all begins with user stories. User stories are basically us describing the value we want to bring to others and how we can do so as quickly as possible.

Rather than focussing on what we need to complete, we focus on what the end user needs and how we can deliver a slice of value as quickly as possible so that the user can be part of the process.

Items that we need to do written this way help us keep focussed on the people we are trying to serve and allow us to cut out everything that is considered excess fat.

It’s about building only whats absolutely necessary for the user, delivering value as soon as possible, and then integrating user feedback into future value we deliver.

This often means that rather than building large back end systems we are making something small that works that can deliver a small part of that value so that we can gain user feedback and end up with a better back-end system in the long term even though the back and will go through several iterations.
So yesterday I wrote this,
worked on Xenforo license, support and email issues
Fixed my 2nd monitor which I bought for better colors so I can really understand/work well with the teams art.
Usual Discord chats and messages.
Learning lot more agile.

5 Hours total.

Hey guys,
I really feel like yadnis assets have been awesome but confusingly clocked. With everyone’s permission I would like to give him .3 hours for all 120 assets he has made so far just to make life easier for both me and him.
From now on we will try to be more rigourous about the systems we use to clock hours so that they’ll be clarity in the future is that all right with you guys?
